I obsess over films and here is my collection of the best of the best. Or maybe it's just the things I recently watched and there is no logic to it at all, who knows. Either way, it's on the fun and entertaining side, I won't include any of Pasolini, I promise.
Lady Snowblood 1973
The original and much better version of Kill Bill, sue me
A Fistful of Dollars 1964
before Leone was introduced to nuance, but incredubly cool nevertheless, the best western to get into western
Dial M for Murder 1954
I knew how it ends and was still stressed out. but also: grace kelly with scissors. (that's all I have to say)
Reservoir Dogs 1992
If you want to watch Tarantino but can't sit through Kill Bill (understandably)
Lawrence of Arabia 1962
Is it really a collonialist film if it's self aware? The most poetic story but only if you keep skipping all establishing shots and action scenes
Fargo 1996
The best mcdormand movie. Funny, dark and beautifully shot. Violent but somehow heartwarming? Oh, you betcha. Yeah. P.S. I want what Marge and Norm have
La Haine 1995
Vincent cassel isn't jewish but I feel represented anyway. I don't know how to describe it except for "that's what cinema is supposed to be"
